About
A two-person workshop in Gengenbach
Lena and Jonas Hollis make every board, bowl and spoon in a former sawmill shed at the edge of the Black Forest. The wood comes from storm-felled oak, ash, walnut and cherry from forests within 30 km.
Cut, carved and oiled by hand
Each board is cut from a single plank, shaped with spokeshaves and carving knives, sanded to 320 grit and oiled three times with linseed oil. A bowl takes two days from rough blank to finish.
